Bumper to Bumper
Playing with matchcars, is serious business. It appears that there has been a traffic jam on this particular day. Often times, situations like that lead to angry drivers. Some where so angry, they drove right off the cliff (ottoman). This was very upsetting for Sean. He insisted that everyone line up, and wait their turn to get where they were going.
There appears to be a pile-up on the Otto-baun (ottoman)

San Francisco Weekend
Such a treat! Steve and Susan took Steve and I to San Francisco to celebrate his 40th birthday in style. We stayed at the beautiful Hotel Monaco in Downtown SF, and enjoyed two fantastic dinners. The dinner at Bix on the second night was perfect. Such an experience. Service was amazing. This throw back dinner club, had a romantic ambiance, live music and superb food.
Out treking the city for the day. Took the Trolley down to Fisherman's Warf, walked around a bit then took a cable car to the Ferry Landing Farmer's Market. This is where we spent the rest of the day, walking through all the vendors and people watching. This is the best Farmer's Market I've ever been to!
Heading out to dinner at Bix!
Relaxing on the patio at Taylors with a couple beers, people watching. So relaxing and enjoyable.

It's been a VERY SPOOOKY Halloween. This year, a witch stopped by the house and cast a spell on Sean, and shrunk him down to 3 inches tall. She sentenced him to a day of creepiness in the land of Hallowed Pumpkin, where he shall remain until the strike of midnight. I have been told that sometimes with good behavior, the witch will reverse the spell so that young boys and girls can partake in the Trick or Treating tradition. We will see what happens. I hope that the witch is feeling kind today, Sean has a very handsome Fireman costume he will be wearing this evening.

Bitter Sweet Moment
This evening, Steve had to work pretty late. Much later than normal. It's pretty standard for Sean to wait at the window for Daddy, while I'm making dinner and working in the kitchen. Sean did really well trying to wait up for him, but needed to go to bed, once 8:00pm rolled around. Daddy was still not home. So I took Sean up for bed, and by the time I came down, the garage door was opening, and Steve was home.
We sat and ate our dinner, and talked about our day. Watched the end of The Biggest Loser. And Steve said to me... "Come here, I want you to see something..." So I turned off the TV and went with him. He walked me over to the bottom of the staircase and pointed over to the window where he saw this...
I could see the look on Steve's face. He was so sad. He looked at me, and said, "It's like a painted picture... I can see that he probably waited and waited until he couldn't wait anymore, and had to go to bed." Oh my goodness, by this time, I was bawling like a baby. It made me so sad. Steve just said, "don't think that I don't notice these things"... It's ok, Steve, this won't last forever. It's just a temporary situation. I love you, Steve. Thank you for sacraficing for our family.

"2" is here!
I hate to say it.. but I think we're hitting the "terrible two's". uuggghhh... and it is EXHAUSTING. I ask myself, 'How could this little man, that I love so much, fight me and cry about EVERYTHING?' I just don't know! Even the FUN stuff! You just never know when it's coming or going to hit. One hour, all is great in Sean's world... the next hour, absolutely NOTHING is ok with Sean. I'm certain that there is no way that I was like this. Come on... I couldn't have been... Right? Ok, well probably not true (my mom would tell you many stories on the contrary). I'm sure that Mary would say that Steve was never like this... but I'm convinced that as a Mom, you start to have "selective memory". After all, if you asked me to sum up the first year of Sean's life, I'd tell you how wonderful it was and how he was the greatest baby EVER! Guess what, that statement is true, BUT there were still plenty of times when I wondered if I was going to make it til daylight.
Today we had an "outing" with Robyn & Nate, Mark & Jenn and the boys, Ryan and Jack. Steve and I with Sean. FUN! We went over to a local petting zoo near the house. Well Sean was interested in the animals for about 15 minutes, then the rest of the time, he only wanted to get on the golf cart that drove the owner and his kids around. He was obsessed with this thing. He didn't care about the animals, he didn't care about playing with the other kids... he only cared about this golf cart. Kicking and Screaming, we left and went home. It was lunch time, he was hungry... but YOU BET, he put up a fight with lunch. Throwing his PB&J and Veggies on the floor. Rolling is drink to the other side of the table. Well, that was it, it's NAP time. Up to the room we go, he is tired but the second he realizes, "nap?!", the fight begins. Well I refuse to lose these fights... I've learned my lesson. Cave once, and you're doomed forever! So we toughed it out, til he fell asleep. I was ready to crash myself... I'm dying for a nap! But as soon as I layed my head down.... WIDE AWAKE (me not him), so here I am writing this blog.
Yep, the "2's" are here already, and I don't think they'll be leaving soon.
